Ben began studying classical piano at age 11. His professional work began on the instrument when he started working with Des Moines-based jazz vocalist Max Wellman in 2007. From 2015-2016, he accompanied Seattle Girls' Choir Vivissimi and served as the pianist for Living Interfaith Church in Lynnwood, WA.
